Important remarks: The approximate durations of the visits are given (in the detailed information windows) as rough indications. Naturally, the pace can be adapted and may vary according to the desire of our clientele and depending on circumstances. All the visits are made without any pre-organised scenario. Because of the season and outside conditions (the weather notably), it may not be possible or reasonable to go to certain places. In this eventuality, we suggest you organise your stay by taking into account the conditions at that time and then consider the available activities of the moment.
Attention: The visits are assured at the indicated rates only for groups of at least two adults. The groups include a maximum of 8 persons (adults and children together). Except if mentioned otherwise, our prices do not include access rights or admission tickets to the visiting sites. The prices indicated here are valid for year 2010.

The colouring and the spinning of the silk are made according to an ancestral method originating from the Surin region. Certain unique pieces are specially created for the Royal family and other very important persons. They are made by the most experienced weavers who possess a prodigious know-how and an extraordinary precision. Their formation requires numerous years of training. It often takes several working months for the realisation of the tissues and pieces made in Ban Ta Sawang. For example, four persons must work together during approximately one month to elaborate one square meter of tissue for a unique piece. But maybe the most impressive thing in this village are the magnificent constructions of teak wood in which the staff works, and the atmosphere that seems to date from time immemorial. A small museum can also be visited on request. Many unique pieces made several centuries ago and that belonged to the royal family are shown there. Moreover, you can also see the making of golden jewels that match the ornate patterns of the silk pieces. The annual procession which takes place in March starting the first day of the waxing moon may originally have been an ancient Khmer custom. Formerly, the inhabitants of Surin climbed Khao Sawai to honour goddess Shiva. Nowadays, a Buddhist temple where live about ten monks (always very happy to receive foreign visitors) is located at its summit: Wat Phnom Silaram. | | | | V06 | Prasat Ta Muang + Prasat Ta Muang Thom + Prasat Ta Muang Thot | | | | | Approximate duration: 7 hours Price: 1400 baht per person Information : Lunch and transport included | | | | Three ancient castles, distant approximately one kilometre from each other, are located near the Cambodian border.
